Tempeh take on a welsh rarebit
This mouth watering open sandwich is a perfect comfort food for a rainy day and is a tempeh nod to the famous welsh rarebit with some tempeh twists!
Recipe:
Spelt flour loaf - perfect for this as it’s a strong bread that wont bend under all that cheese!
Vegan cheese slices
Buffalo tomato
Tamari for serving
Fresh basil leaves
Impulse tempeh
1. Toast your bread first on both sides
2. Grill your tempeh with a little of the tamari till nice and crispy
3. Add your tempeh, tomatoes, fresh basil and cheese to the toast and pop under the grill till the cheese starts to bubble and melt
4. Sprinkle with a little more tamari and fresh basil and serve
