Mushroom and tempeh on toast

A classic twist on a popular weekend (or weekday brunch). Tempeh and garlic are a match made in heaven, teamed with the earthy mushrooms and crunch from a delicious farmhouse loaf this is the perfect way to start the weekend. I’ll pop the kettle on.


  • 1 slice of farmhouse loaf

  • Garlic cloves x 3 crushed

  • Handful of button mushrooms

  • 1 tbsp dairy free butter or other

  • 1 tsp chopped parsley

  • 3 slices of Impulse Tempeh

  • Black pepper


1) Cut your mushrooms in half and add the butter to a small frying pan and cook for a few minutes
2) Add the garlic and toss together
3) Get your toast toasting
4) Take the mushrooms out of the pan and add a little oil and add your tempeh slices and cook for a few mins each side till browned
5) Pile everything together on your toast and sprinkle with a little black pepper and parsley and serve
