Smokey beans with grilled tempeh

Now the temperature seems to be plummeting it seems only right to start getting those comfort foods lined up! This recipe, (if it can be called a recipe because it’s so simple) is delicious, warming and an absolute crowd pleaser.


  • 1 cup of chopped mushrooms

  • 4 cans of beans (we used whole earth for no processed sugar)

  • 1 tbsp paprika (smokey)

  • 200g tempeh grilled

  1. Slice your tempeh and under a medium grill place your tempeh, you can lightly brush with oil if you wish.

  2. Chop up your mushrooms and with a little water or oil add them to a frying pan and cook till they soften

  3. Add in the beans and paprika and stir well

  4. Bring to the boil and then warm through for a few minutes until your tempeh is complete

  5. Serve in a large bowl for a buffet or small dish using the tempeh to dip in!
